Malibu dining is definitely getting more exciting. In addition to Nikita (review upcoming) and Nobu, we now have V's. Owners Vassil Pertchinkov and Yassen Tonev (Guido's Malibu) along with Chef Chris
Bocchino cook up some pretty good seasonal Italian fare. Located in the former spot of Charlie's, the restaurant got a pretty decent make over. It's a great place to grab a drink or dine. We've done both. Start off in the bar with a hand crafted
cocktail ($12). We like the Spicy Margarita silver tequila, cointreau, lime juice, agave nectar, and a hint of serrano peppers. Mojitos are also refreshing-rum blanco, mint, sugar, lime juice, and seltzer. We also enjoy the Girard suuvignon blanc ($11) with
dinner. Snacks are probably the best part of the meal. Try the Portobello fries ($10) with lemon aioli or the Meatballs ($11). Meatballs are homemade with beef, veal, oregano, and marinara sauce. You will be asking for more grilled bread to dip! V's Chopped
Salad ($12) is a filling dish with it's salami, garbanzo beans, artichoke, mozzarella, and olives all dressed in white balsalmic vinaigrette. For pizza lovers, try the Pepper, Onion, and Anchovy Pie ($18). Pizza is topped with homemade marinara, imported white
anchovies, and stracciatella. (similar to burrata cheese). Our entrees were the Grilled Salmon ($28) served with vegatables, black rice, and lemon grass buerre blanc. Fish was delicious and moist. Grilled Filet Mignon ($34) comes with three cheese Mac+Cheese
and wild mushroom demi glace. Meat is cooked well and mac + cheese is the perfect accompaniment. Though V's is a little bit on the pricey side, we might go back for snacks and drinks. V's Restaurant + Bar, 22821 Pacific Coast Highway, Malibu. (310) 456-3828
