We had dinner tonight at The Nice Guy and yes, it was it nice! I love the ambience, even though there are no photos allowed! I could put up with that because, being a celebrity haunt, The Nice Guy is geared toward privacy.
Although the doorman didn't ask us, we heard and saw him ask others if they had a reservation, because apparently, you can't enter unless you have one. Once you part the drapes at the entrance, it's dark inside, very dark. Being some one who is still afraid
of the dark, I thought I would hate this. But I didn't, I loved it! The darkness lends a very "clubby" atmosphere and the live music is fantastic and mellow. The bar area is beautiful as is the small intimate restaurant. Service was outstanding and the food
and drinks great! We started with the JoJo, served in an old-fashioned champagne glass. I'm a sucker for those glasses, but the drink was pretty yummy too. Shake some Absolut, st. Germaine, lemon juice, strawberries and proseco, and you get a JoJo. It's the
perfect cocktail, not too sweet! We also had margaritas that were deemed delicious and refreshing. For starters we had Molanari's meatballs with spicy tomato sauce and burrata. We also had clamari with grilled lemon and marinara. Both appetizers were fantastic!
For dinner we had skirt steak and chicken Parmesan. Both dishes were huge portions and served beautifully. For dessert we had the chocolate budino with marshmallow topping. It was a perfect evening with great friends until a overly served diner tried to snap
a photo of the live musician. He was escorted back to his table. They really do enforce the no photos rule! The Nice Guy 401 N. LaCienega Blvd. West Hollywood (310) 360-9500 Open every day at 6pm
